A lawsuit, Frank Limbeck vs the C.. M. & St. P. railroad, resulted in a court directed verdict for the defendant. This action asked damages for ejection from the train, when plaintiff refused to pay an additional 100 demanded by the conductor as a penalty for paying fare enroute.

The graduates from O. H. S. in 1908 were: Faye Gilbert, Lenore Gunderson, Grace Weitgenant, Ethel Thompson, Elizabeth Heck, Fred Peglow and Hartvick Knudsvig.

The following students were graduates of De Sales: Anna Becker, Mayme Wirsching, Mae Malloy, Amanda Fleischer, Katherine Lansing and Nellie Cavanaugh.

The Silver Springs Creamery Company elected the following area farmers as its officers: A. P. Cornell, pres.; M. J. Nicholson, Mgr.; Ole Riveland, Andrew Scheidel, Henry Funke, Philip Wagner and Albert Shindelar, directors; H. P. Nicholson, Henry Scheidel and Shindelar, auditors. The creamery did a business of $85,000 the past year and shipped 247,000 lbs. of manufactured butter. They have 300 patrons located on 15 cream routes. Their haulers earned $6350.

The new sheds of the Frudden Lumber Company have been completed. They greatly improve the appearance of Main street. The Frudden company has sold the west fifty feet of their property to Clair Limbeck. He will build a 50' X 30', two story, cold storage for eggs.

Emil Holzer, janitor at St. Francis Church, was killed in a fall from the roof of the edifice. He was pointing the brick at the base of the steeple when his improvised scaffold gave way, causing his fatal plunge.

Military township again voted solidly Democratic in the fall election. The new officials were: E. V. Gilbert and J. H. Milbert, justices; James Cahill and J. E. Boyle, constables; Wm. Holtey and P. F. Meyer, trustees; and J. E. Boyle, clerk.

A concert and entertainment was held at Bullard Hall featuring home talent.The following young people participated: Clara Spillman, Emma Blanchaine, H. J. McKeon, Charlotte Gunderson, Arthalinda Lee, Prof. H. O DeGraff and Margaret Limbeck.

Arcturus Lodge no. 237 held a banquet in this same hall with ninety six members in attendance. Speaking and "other amusements" were indulged in, according to the Bee's account.

The tenth grade rhetoric class of the public school started publishing a weekly serial, "The Heroine", in the local paper. A different student authored each chapter.
