CHARLES HILTABIDLE FAMILY

 

     Charles Eugene Hiltabidle, born near Brownell, Kansas on December 5, 1910; son of David and Daisy E. Hiltabidle.  After the death of his father on January 26, 1919, Daisy and her three children moved to Clio, Iowa.  Charles Eugene married Anna Mae Shell of Clio, Iowa on August 6, 1930.  She was the daughter of Lewis Edwin and Teressie Shell.

     Charles and Anna Mae had four children, Richard Eugene, Larry Laverne, Terry Lee and Diana Lynn.  They all graduated from Allerton except Diana, who graduated from Wayne Community after Allerton joined it.

     In February 1941, Charles and Anna Mae and two oldest sons, Richard and Larry, moved from Clio to a farm about four miles east of Allerton.  They lived there three years.  Terry Lee was born February 2, 1942.  They then bought a farm five miles southeast of Allerton in 1943 and moved on it in 1944.  Diana Lynn was born October 11, 1952.

     Richard Eugene married Wanema Mace of Allerton, on September 15, 1950.  They have four children; Richard Dirl, 21 years old; Steven Duane, 19 years old; Thomas Dwight, 15 years old; and Kila Kae, 7 years old.  He is a brakeman at the railroad yards in Eagle Grove, Iowa, where they live.

     Larry Laverne married Laura Nell Tevis of Hughesville, Missouri, on May 20, 1958.  They have three daughters, Greer Deann, 13 years old; and twins, Lee Ann and Su Ann, 11 years old.  He is Band Director for high school and grade school at Waverly, Missouri; where they live.

     Terry Lee married Sharon Smith of Corydon, Iowa on June 5, 1960.  They have one son, Scott Lee, 4 years old.  Terry is Boys Basketball Coach and Advanced Math teacher in high school at Wayne Community.  They live in Corydon, Iowa.

     Diana Lynn married Don Thomas on January 29, 1972.  They have one son Brian Eugene, 1 year old.  Don is a Senior at North East Missouri University at Kirksville, Missouri.

     Charles passed away on November 15, 1971.  Anna Mae still makes her home on the farm.
