I am very sorry that so many of the people who helped me with this history are deceased. They will never have the opportunity to pass judgement on my efforts. The names that I recall at the present time are George W. Phillips, Nellie Richardson Lewis Warner, Clay Reed, Claude Reed, James A. Ruxton, John A. Johnston, Anna E. Fry, and John Hoberland.
There are four ladies living in this community in 1956 who deserve some credit in the writing of this history. They helped in the difficult task of teaching me the 3 R's at good old Maple Hill country school in Section 14. They are Lola McBride Johnston, Lela Galbreath Madison, Mary Allen Lundy, and Alice Johnston Brierley.
