Barnes, IRA—Co. B, 11th Wisconsin Infantry

Ira enlisted on September 12, 1861. He was discharged on September 4, 1865. He was a Sergeant at the time of his discharge.

Ira fought in the important battles of Vicksburg and Jackson, Mississippi. He was in the battle of Mobile, Alabama. He also campaigned in Arkansas.

BRYANT, JOSEPH J.—Co. K, 32nd Iowa Infantry

Joseph enlisted on July 13, 1862. He was discharged on August 24, 1865, at Clinton, Iowa.

Joseph fought in the battle of Nashville, Tennessee. He fought in the battles of Mobile and Spanish Fort, Alabama. He also campaigned in Louisiana.

BUMP, MARTIN VAN BUREN—Co. I, 47th Iowa Infantry

Martin enlisted on May 16, 1864. He was discharged on September 28, 1864, at Davenport, Iowa.

Martin was on garrison duty at Helena, Arkansas, during his period of service. The regiment suffered heavy losses from malaria and other diseases. Seven per cent of the regiment died from disease.

BURDICK, ZENAS C.—Co. G, 116th Illinois Infantry

Zenas enlisted on September 6, 1862. He was discharged on June 7, 1865.

Zenas fought in the battles of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Savannah, Georgia. He campaigned in Mississippi, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Zenas was with Sherman's army on the march through Georgia.
