George Barnard, Robert D. Smith, Sylvester Abe Stallings, William M. Albright, Charles N. Thatcher, and James B. Couser were the Civil War veterans present. The flag of the G. A. R. contained thirty-six stars which testified to its age.
Post 116 used the flag until 1953. It is now stored at the home of Donald H. Grimm, Historian, Post 116. The Andrew Patton engraving can not be found.
