TISDALE :
Members of the Tisdale family have been prominent residents of our community, 1884-1956. Present indications are that the name Tisdale will be prominent in our community for many years to come.
Julius P. Tisdale was born at South Lyon, Oakland county, Michigan, on December 12, 1849. Julius married Maria Mead on October 25, 1875. They moved to Zearing, Iowa, in 1884.
Julius worked at the mason trade during his first years as a resident of Zearing. Then he worked as a tinner for Patton & Johnson, and for Wohlheter & Son. Finally he went into the hardware business for himself. Julius sold his hardware in the late 1890's. After the sale of the hardware, Julius worked as a carpenter until his retirement.
Dr. Denison Tisdale of Des Moines, Iowa, practiced medicine in our community when he came to visit his son.
