were Isabella, David W., James A., and Jennie. Isabella Ruxton Norton is living at Fort Dodge, Iowa. Jennie Ruxton Chance lives in Zearing in 1956. David W. is deceased. James A. died on March 12, 1955.

Adam was a member of the board of directors of a local bank for many years. Margaret was a prominent member of the local chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Adam died on July 3, 1929. Margaret died on October 12, 1928.

SAPP :

Old timers remember the party given the Sapp family when the family left our community. The party was evidence of the high regard our community had for the Sapp family.

William Sapp was born in Clermont county, Ohio, on September 5, 1832. William married Margaret Jane Pease at St. Louis, Missouri, in 1855. They lived at McCordsville, Indiana, until 1872. The Sapp family was living in our community in 1889.

William and Margaret Jane were the parents of six children. They were Charles W., George J., Lewis M., Paul M., Marcellus P., and Hannah M.

William was 5 foot, 10 inches, fair complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair. William died at Sunnyside, Washington, on March 19, 1920. We do not have the date of Margaret Jane's death.

SCHRYVER :

Henry A. Schryver came to Zearing, Iowa, in 1907 to take charge of the Thomas J. Pollock race horses. Henry worked for Pollock for many years. He was a Zearing town marshal in the 1920's.

Henry Allen Schryver was born on June 4, 1873 in Ogle county, Illinois. Sylvia Shultz was born on May 29, 1868, near Juda, Wisconsin. Henry and Sylvia were married on February 28, 1894, at Marshalltown, Iowa.

A daughter, Jessie, is living at Eyebrow, Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1956.

Henry died in 1935. Sylvia is living at Nevada, Iowa, in 1956.

SCHULER :

Three brothers from Germany played a leading role in the pioneer life of our community. They were the Schuler brothers. Charles Schuler was born on July 7, 1849, at Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany. Charles married Anna Young at St. John's Lutheran Church near State Center, Iowa, on March 3, 1878. Anna was born at Guelph, Ontario, Canada, on August 14, 1859.
