John and Susannah were the parents of three children. They were Lulu, Mabel, and Otis.

John died in 1915. Susannah died on March 22, 1922.

ROSEBURROUGH :

Frank Roseburrough was a Zearing blacksmith. The Roseburrough building was torn down after the close of World War II. It was located on the south side of Main Street between Center Street and Pine Street.

Frank Roseburrough was born on May 2, 1868, in Kane county, Illinois. He came to Iowa with his parents when he was a baby. The family settled on a farm near Union, Iowa. Frank married Jane Moon on March 7, 1887, at Marshalltown, Iowa. They moved to Zearing after the marriage.

Frank and Jane were the parents of four children. Henry and Anise are deceased. Joseph lives at Hesperia, California. Lewis is a resident of St. Joseph, Missouri.

Frank died on March 27, 1910. Jane is living at Nevada, Iowa, in 1954.

Roushar :

When long time residents of Zearing talk about the early 1900's, they almost always mention the name of Joe Roushar. Joe was a popular Zearing druggist in those days.

Joseph C. Roushar was born on November 13, 1880, at Traer, Iowa. Anna Vorba was born on June 6, 1882, at Traer, Iowa. Joseph C. and Anna were married on April 15, 1903, at Clutier, Iowa. They moved to Zearing, Iowa, in 1904. Joseph C. was a Zearing druggist for ten years.

Joseph C. and Anna were the parents of three children. They were Marguerite, Frances, and Marcella.

Joseph C. is living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1955. Anna is buried in the St. John's Cemetery at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She died on September 23, 1946.

RUXTON:

I was a high school boy and Adam Ruxton was retired. However, despite our ages, Adam and I had a lot of fun pitching horseshoes together. I always regarded Adam as a true sportsman on or off the horseshoe courts.

Adam Hill Ruxton was born in Scotland on March 10, 1850. He came to the United States in 1866. Adam married Margaret Wallace near Geneseo, Illinois, on January 1, 1875. Margaret was born in Scotland on July 26, 1853. Adam and Margaret moved to our community in 1894.
