Phillips :

The Phillips family has been a highly respected family in our community from the 1870's to 1956. William and Catherine Corbit Phillips died before I was born. However, I knew and admired George W., Lewis, and Phoebe Phillips Wickham.

As a little boy, I would think up excuses to visit Phoebe's house. One such incident she never forgot and teased me about it in later years. It seems that I appeared on her doorstep with an armload of catnip. It was a present for her cats.

William M. Phillips was born in the Lake Region, Cayuga county, New York, on June 25, 1826. He moved to Lafayette township, Coshocton county, Ohio, with his parents in 1838. In the 1840's, the family moved to Adams township, Coshocton county.

William died on January 14, 1877. Catherine died on February 11, 1905.
