Phillips :
The Phillips family has been a highly respected family in our community from the 1870's to 1956. William and Catherine Corbit Phillips died before I was born. However, I knew and admired George W., Lewis, and Phoebe Phillips Wickham.
As a little boy, I would think up excuses to visit Phoebe's house. One such incident she never forgot and teased me about it in later years. It seems that I appeared on her doorstep with an armload of catnip. It was a present for her cats.
