on March 1, 1873. Lute and Alta were married on February 9, 1899, at Zearing, Iowa. Lute established a barber shop in Zearing in 1900.
Lute and Alta were the parents of four children. They were Stella, Ivan, Ivo, and Lewis.
Lute died on October 26, 1949, at Rochester, Minnesota. Alta died on November 13, 1950, at Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Henry D. Moon was born on April 22, 1869, at Tipton, Iowa. Frances Effting was born at Lockport, Illinois. Henry and Frances were married on January 30, 1901, at Lockport, Illinois. They moved to Zearing, Iowa, soon after the marriage. Henry was a drayman before he went into the restaurant business in April, 1909.
Henry and Frances were the parents of three children. They were William, Frank, and J. Vernon.
Henry died on October 15, 1941. Frances is living in Zearing in 1956.
MOORE :
Members of the Moore family have been prominent residents of our community for many years. Members of the family have always been interested in the welfare of our community.
Etna F. Moore was born on May 10, 1858, at Gifford, Iowa. Martha A. Miller, the daughter of Jacob and Harriet Miller, was born near Union, Iowa, on July 13, 1863. Etna and Martha were married at Union, Iowa, on April 9, 1882. They moved to a farm in our community in 1892.
Etna and Martha were the parents of ten children. They were Elsie, Clara M., Lester, Vernie R., Leonard, Nellie, Iva, Lee, Pearl, and Howard. Elsie Moore Bailey and Nellie Moore Manning are living in our community in 1956.
Etna died on November 24, 1944. Martha died on January 12, 1934.
Mosteller :
The Mosteller family was a well known family in our community during the period from 1903 to the 1930's. Leo was the last member of the family to leave our community. In 1956, Leo is living on a farm near Clemons, Iowa.
Charles C. Mosteller was born on November 4, 1879, near Oskaloosa, Iowa. At the age of fourteen he came to Zearing to live at the James Lincoln Reid home. On October 5, 1901, Charles married Cora Eunice Tight of St. Anthony, Iowa.
Charles and Cora were the parents of six children. They were Leo, Eunice, Inez, Lucile, Maurine, and Thelma.
Charles died on September 21, 1922. Cora is living at Marshalltown, Iowa.
