Sherry Montgomery McCall was born in 1849 in Polk county, Iowa. Anna Mary Reese was born in Jasper county, Iowa, in 1857. Sherry Montgomery married Anna Mary in 1874. They moved to a farm near Nevada, Iowa, in 1878. In 1889, they moved to McCallsburg, Iowa. In 1894, the family moved to Zearing.
Sherry Montgomery and Anna Mary were the parents of four daughters. They were Roea, Hattie, Jennie, and Clara.
Roea married George Bales. Roea and George have been active in many civic projects at Winnebago, Minnesota.
Hattie McCall, now Mrs. A. H. Hoffman, lives at Des Moines, Iowa. She served as a member of the Des Moines school board. She also served as superintendent of schools for Polk county for six years. Hattie served a term as the president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Iowa, in 1924. She served the national organization of the American Legion Auxiliary for about twelve years. The Harriet Hoffman Educational Fund was created in her honor.
Jennie McCall of Des Moines, Iowa, taught for a number of years at the Roosevelt high school in Des Moines.
Clara McCall married Clyde Kaiser. They are living in Youngstown, Ohio. Clara was associated with the Youngstown schools for several years.
The four McCall girls were graduates of the high school in Zearing. Sherry Montgomery served as the mayor of Zearing in 1904-05.
Sherry Montgomery died in 1933. Anna Mary died in 1917.
McCLOUD :
The McCloud family came from Kansas to northern Iowa in a covered wagon. In 1905, they moved to our community.
William Thomas McCloud was born in Indiana. William Thomas married Maria Mitchell in Indiana.
William Thomas and Maria were the parents of five children. The four oldest were born at Clifton, Kansas.

William Thomas died on January 16, 1949. Maria died on December 31, 1929. They are buried at Girard, Kansas.
LeRoy Earl McCloud married Clara Lincoln on October 8, 1909. LeRoy Earl and Clara were living in our community at the time of the marriage.
Their first child, Lester T., was born on April 22, 1911. He died
