We do not have much information about the George W. Deaver family. The neighbors called his wife, Grandma, and no one remembers her real name. George W. had a son, Reuben, and another son, George W. Jr. There was also a daughter but we do not have her name.

Thomas Delaney, a Civil War veteran, was born in Ohio. He was a resident of Illinois when he enlisted for service during the war. We have the following record of the family taken from the 1885 census of Lincoln township, Story county, Iowa.
