farmer at Milledgeville, Illinois. A daughter, Goldie, is living in southwest Iowa. A daughter, Pearl, is the wife of Rev. Walter Cerka of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

BUKER :

Isaac Buker is listed in Allen's history of Story County as a prominent farmer in Lincoln township during the 1880's. We have very little information about the Buker family.

Isaac Buker and his wife, Belle, had no children. They moved to Earlham, Iowa, from our community. Belle died at Earlham.

Isaac then married Cora Bolton, the widow of Frank Bolton, and they moved to Scotland, South Dakota.

Bull :

The Bull family was one of the first families to come to our community after 1860. The family came before Lincoln township was organized.

Squire Bull was born in Vermont. He taught school in Indiana. He met and married Sarah Beard in Indiana. They moved to Roseville, Illinois.

Squire and Sarah moved to Illinois Grove in 1862. They moved to our community a year later. The family purchased a log house and moved it to the site of their new home.

Squire and Sarah were the parents of eleven children. Five of the children came with the parents to Iowa. They were George, Layfette, Lucia, Alice, and Ellenor.

Delatus, a Civil War veteran and a son of Squire and Sarah, came to Iowa after the war to visit his parents. Delatus and George went west to work in the gold and silver mines.

Layfette married Lou Davis. They moved to Nebraska. Lucia married a hotel man from Nevada, Iowa. Alice married Charles Mills of New Providence, Iowa. Ellenor married John Flower. Ellenor lived in Lincoln township until her death in 1948.

Squire died on August 31, 1890. Sarah died on August 24, 1890.

BUMP :

The great, great, grandfather of Clarence Bump of this community was a soldier in the American Revolution. John Bump of Vermont, a native of Scotland, fought in the American Revolution. Note : Clarence Bump died after this family sketch was written. He died on September 3, 1955.

Daniel Bump, a son of John Bump, was born in Vermont in 1806. Daniel married Lucinda George.

Martin Van Buren Bump, a son of Daniel and Lucinda, was born at Columbus, Ohio, on May 23, 1844. The family moved to Mount Vernon, Iowa, in 1854. Martin married Mrs. Hannah Tan-
