was born in Lincoln township, Story county, Iowa, on August 10, 1870.

George and Lydia were the parents of six children. They were Lester, Mable, Otis, Leota, Elsie, and Bessie. Lester, Otis, and Bessie Arrasmith Good are living in Zearing in 1955.

George died on July 21, 1929. Lydia died on January 18, 1946.

Bailey :

The Bailey family has been prominent in our community for many years. The original Bailey home was located in the Grant Center community in Hardin county. It is interesting to note how Tarlton Bailey and Alice Crain became acquainted. Tarlton was a star route mail carrier. Alice lived near the Sunset post office in Lincoln township.

Tarlton Bailey was born on December 14, 1852. The Bailey family came to Iowa in 1870 from Missouri. Alice Crain was born at Winchester, Chesire county, New Hampshire. She came to Lincoln township, Story county, Iowa, with the Crain family in 1876. Tarlton and Alice were married in 1880. They established their home in Hardin county.

Tarlton and Alice were the parents of seven children. Three died in infancy. The others were Clyde, Guy, Otis, and Clay. Clyde is living in Lincoln township in 1955. Guy lives in California. Clay died in 1918. Otis died in 1919.

Alice and her sons moved to a farm in Lincoln township in 1906. Tarlton died on June 19, 1895. Alice died on April 3, 1949. They are buried in the Hubbard Cemetery, Hubbard, Iowa.

BAINTER :

Bainter was a well known name in Lincoln township for many years. Tecie Bainter Ruxton is the only member of the family living in our community in 1955.

Rhonaldo M. Bainter was born on May 7, 1859, at La Harpe, Illinois. Rhode, as he was called by his friends, married Iba Frances Meekins on August 22, 1882, at Marshalltown, Iowa. They moved to a farm in Lincoln township, Story county, Iowa, in 1886.

Rhode and Iba Frances were the parents of three children. They were Tecie, Jesse, and Altha Mae.

Rhode died on January 20, 1945. Iba Frances died on April 29, 1937.

BALLINGER :

David Ballinger was a prominent farmer in our community for many years. The three children of David and Esther Cerka Ballinger established permanent homes in our community.
