Jacob and Nellie were the parents of eight children. They were Clara, Vanetta Marie, Laura, Nora, Katie, Ada, Otis, and Loren.
Jacob died on June 22, 1950. He is buried at Burns, Oregon. Nellie is living at Burns, Oregon, in 1954.
Mary Ann Allen Winders, a daughter of Joseph Sr., lived in this community for some time while caring for her parents. Mary Ann was the mother of two children. They were Carl E. and Eva.
Joseph C. Allen, a son of Joseph Sr., was born near Bladensburg, Wapello county, Iowa, on August 17, 1862. He came to our community in 1887. On March 6, 1889, Joseph C. married Anna M. Morgan of Colo, Iowa.
Joseph C. Allen served as a Story county supervisor from 1913 to 1919. He was a postmaster and town official.
Joseph and Anna were the parents of three children. They were John W., Earl E., and Mary E. The three children have been life long residents of this community.
Joseph C. died on January 29, 1938. Anna died on August 18, 1955.
Grant Allen, a son of Joseph Sr., was born in Wapello county, Iowa, on November 10, 1864. Grant married Anna Belle Stearns of Bladensburg, Iowa, on December 28, 1887.
Grant and Belle were the parents of three sons. The oldest died in infancy. The others were Eli D. (Dot), and Ora C.
Grant died on July 14, 1918. Anna Belle died at Pendleton, Oregon, on May 18, 1905.
George Allen, a son of Joseph Sr., was a young man when he died in this community. George died on July 22, 1901. He is buried in the Zearing Cemetery.
Lizzie Allen, a daughter of Joseph Sr., was a seamstress in Zearing until her marriage. Lizzie married Samuel B. Turner. Their home was north of Clemons, Iowa.
Clara B. Allen, a daughter of Joseph Sr., and her husband, James Wheaton, lived in this community for several years. However, their permanent home was at Oskaloosa, Iowa.
James and Clara were the parents of four children. They were Opal, Blanche, Sybil, and William.
Clarence W. Allen, a son of Joseph Sr., was born near Bladensburg, Iowa, on March 29, 1874. He moved to our community in 1892. In 1896, Clarence married Lena Craft.
