ASKEL Lein

Askel Lein came to Roland in a covered wagon from Lisbon, Illinois, before the Civil War. He settled near the Skunk River and a few years later bought a farm two miles west and one -fourth mile north of Roland. Mr. and Mrs. Lein were the parents of seven children, Amund, Thor, Lars, Oscar, Gerhard, Anna (Mrs. Ole H. Twedt), and Agusta (Mrs. Ole J. Twedt).

H. H. LURA

The family of H. H. Lura includes (back row) Harriette, Eli, Bertram and Inge; (second row) Harvey, H. H. Lura holding Edna, Mrs. Ellen Lura holding Victor, and Nettie; (front) Cora. All children were born on a farm three miles southwest of Roland.
