Mrs. Julia Boyd's children were O. S. Boyd, Mrs. Rev. J. M. Mason, and Mrs. O. P. Teig. Two nieces, Mrs. M. C. Duea and Mrs. Ruby Jondall Nelson, were also raised at the Logan home after they were orphaned.

TRULS JOHNSON

Truls Johnson and Isabel Erickson were married in Illinois and came to Story County July 10, 1869, where they bought 40 acres in Milford township. Three children were born to them, Hannah, Ole T. , and Julia. Mr. Johnson had five children from a previous marriage, and Isabel had one.

Ole T. Johnson was married to Nellie Johnson in 1910. They were the parents of two daughters, Rena (Mrs. LaVerne Smith) and Olive (Mrs. Frank Batman). Mrs. Wallace Anderson jr. of Roland is a daughter of Mrs. Batman and a great granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Truls Johnson.

PAUL KNUDTSON

Paul Knudtson came to America from Norway in 1882, and was employed as a blacksmith by Andrew J. Olson in a shop located one block west of the present Roland State Bank. He later bought the business and moved to
