JACOB JACOBSON HOVERSTEN

Jacob Jacobson Hoversten was born in Ronnesoyno, Norway on December 18.. 1854, and emigrated to the United States at the age of 14 years with his mother, Ellen Jacobson, five sisters and one brother. Together with his mother, he purchased'a farm one mile westland three miles south of Roland.

He was married February 28, 1888, to Dorthea Johnson of Boone County. They lived in a two room cabin until 1897 when they built the house on the farm now owned by Robert Anderson, where they lived until 1914 when they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota for one year. In the spring of 1915 they moved back to Roland and built a new home where they spent the remainder of their lives.

They were the parents of seven children, Joseph, William, Henry, Clara (Mrs. Barney Darby), Elmer, Sylvia (Mrs. J. C. Anfinson), and Jullath (Mrs. C. A. Eagerland).
