GARMAN Herigstad
Garman Herigstad, born in Stavanger, Norway, in 1892, emmigrated to Roland in 1904. He was first employed as a blacksmith with Inge Blacksmithing and Paul Knudtson Blacksmithing. He later purchased Mr. Knudtson's interest and continued in the blacksmithing business until he retired.
He married Magda Undem, who emigrated from Sandness, Norway, in 1914. Their five children are Haakon, Olaf, Garvin, Gudrid, and Henning. Mr. Herigstad died in 1957, and his wife in 1965.
