Nels Henderson, the son of Lars and Anna Henderson, was born March 19, 1854. He came to America with his parents at the age of two. He grew to manhood on his parents' farm north of Roland, and married Anna Skimland on March 18, 1880. To this union six children were born: Caroline, Henry, Ellen (Mrs. Ole Hovland), Josephine, Louise and Albert. Nels died October 17, 1894.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Hereim were pioneer immigrants from Norway, coming to America in approximately 1868. They settled on a farm five miles south of Roland where they made their home until about 1910 when they retired and moved into Roland. They were the parents of three children, Andrew, Julia (Mrs. Chris Hall), and Tom.
