her first child was born, and the child also died. Jonas married Betsey Johnson and they had three daughters, Cora, Mamie and Sylvia. He was married a second time to Dena Logan and they had three sons, John, Julius and Earl. Alice and her husband, Sam H. Twedt, had one son, Herman John, and two daughters, Celia and Helen. Edward married Hannah Guvine Logan and had six children, Cyrus John, George L. , Alice, Edith, Lois and Clarice. Otis married Leola Virden and they have one daughter, Cecelia May.

George A. Cole and Clara Nerem were married and lived on the Cole homestead 2½ miles north of Roland. While there, seven children were born to them, Orville, George C. , Ernest, Virgil, Morna, Abbie, and Arnold.
