A History of Roland, Iowa 1870-1970

The following history of the settlement of the Roland community represents hundreds of man-hours of work by your committee in searching previously written histories for facts, names, and dates, contacting living relatives for information concerning the earliest settlers and their families, studying and evaluating photographs, and compiling all information into what we hope will prove to be as complete and accurate a document as possible.

Obviously, much of the material had to be edited into more concise form in the interests of conserving space, but we believe we have retained the most important facts in each area of history.
