SAM H. Twedt
Sam H. Twedt was one of the sons of pioneer settlers Mr. and Mrs. Hans J. Twedt. He was born on the Twedt homestead northeast of Roland on August 1, 1867.
To his first wife, Alice, daughter of pioneers John and Cecelia Christian, three children were born. Mrs. Celia Wicks is the only one surviving. Herman J. passed away in 1954 and Mrs. Helen Imsland in 1967.
He married Hattie Krohn who was born east of Roland in 1881 to pioneer settlers, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Krohn. Four children were born to this union, Allis, who passed away in 1951; Harold, died in infancy; the two surviving are Mrs. Anna Harriet Borwick and Samuel H. Twedt.
Mr. and Mrs. Twedt lived on the farm northeast of Roland which is now owned by his son, Mr, and Mrs. Samuel Twedt. They retired from the farm in 1944 and bought a home in Roland.
