THE LOCAL BAND WAS very much the part of the community scene in the first fifty years, Some were in full uniform, some had only a band hat, and one or two were in street clothes when this picture was snapped prior to a McCallsburg Band booster trip. C. A. Fagerland was band leader. Band members are identified as Casper Fagerland, Henry Hegland, Francis Illingsworth, William Malsby, A. G. Graves, A. Ray Johnson, C. A. Fagerland, director, George Lewis, Otis Egenes, Ralph Dillin, Ole Olson, Clarence Cass and Howard Billings.
THE SECOND CAR in McCallsburg was a Reo and belonged to Amos C. Hanson. Here with his wife, Louise Lura Hanson, he takes children, Mabel, Clarence, Lloyd, Beatrice and Albert for a ride. Bill Hardin owned the first car in McCallsburg, a Maxwell.
