The main provisions of the tentative agreement are as follows:
1. B. A. base increase $350 to $11,000 (3.3 percent).2. M.A. base increased $350 to $11,850 (3.05 percent).
3. Increments increased $10 at each ? ? ($300 to $310).
4. Supplemental pay changed to a percentage of the B. A. base.
5. Employee may elect family health insurance, but it will be deducted from base salary.
6. Language changes in two areas: The tentative agreement means an average salary increase of 5.6% and a total package increase of 6.15%.

December 15, 1980. The 7th ranked Colo girls made the Collins girls their 5th victim of the season 76-34. Collins scoring: Kristi Richardson 14, Tammy Heidemann 10, Karen Partridge 7, Karen Smith 2, Becky Newlin 1.
Collins boys won their 5th consecutive game 57-35 over Colo. Their shooting was 51% field goals, and 61% free throws. Scoring: Bill Dunshee 20, Brad Oswalt 13, Mark Hudson 9, Jim Huggins 5, Jeff Sesker 4, Rick Salyers 4, Kirk Cheville 2. Rebounding: Hudson 15.
December 22, 1980. Collins Boys won over Garwin 65-55. Collins gained a halftime lead and held on for a victory margin. Scoring: Bill Dunshee 23, Mark Hudson 15, Brad Oswalt 15, Jim Huggins 5, Jeff Sesker 2. Rebounding: Mark Hudson 17, Bill Dunshee 12.
December 28, 1980. Front Page News: Collins teachers, board agree on pay. The tentative agreement was ratified for the 1981-82 master contract. The Collins Education Association ratified the tentative agreement on Wednesday Dec. 10. The average salary increase is 5.6%. The total package increase is 6.15%.

The use of the gym on Sunday afternoons for community recreation with Mike Mullihan responsible for the opening and closing; hours will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Charging admission to junior high and junior varsity basketball games effective January 1, 1981. The Board pointed out many of the neighborhood schools have been charging for several years.
December 30, 1980. Girls Sectional Tournament February 16, 18 and 19 at Colo. Collins received a bye.
January 14, 1981. The Collins Boys improved their season record to 9-1 defeating Central Dallas 66-48. Their shooting percentage was 58%. Scoring: Bill Dunshee 16, Brad Oswalt 16, Jim Huggins 10, Jeff Sesker 10, Mark Hudson 8, Steve Coughenhour 2, Salyers 2, Ed Grimm 2. Rebounding: Hudson 18 and blocked shots 4. Collins leads Mid-Iowa Conference with 4-0 record.
