May 6, 1926 Collins Wins State English Test On Thursday, April twenty-ninth, Miss Shomler gave the second Iowa test on English Essentials, sent out by the Department of English at the University. The class averages and medians were as follows:

May 13, 1926 Teachers Hired for Next Year Six New Instructors Added to Faculty.

For the past several weeks the school board has had the hard proposition of selecting teachers for the coming year and trying to get the best for the money available, and they have secured six new teachers and retained seven of this year’s teaching forces. Several of the teachers of this year have accepted positions at other places with an advance in wages and which they should have with their knowledge and learning. Below is given the full list as they will appear next year:

J. E. Hollingsworth – Supt., Earl Cope – Principal, Emma Garner – Home Economics, Mabel Cairns – Music and Art, M. S. Applegate – Coach and Science, Ruth Shomler – English, Clara Signs – Junior High, Madge Byal – 6th Grade, Marjorie Byal – 5th Grade, Doris Morrison – 4th Grade, Geraldine Emerson – 3rd Grade, Minnie Marsh – 2nd Grade, Audrey Sherman – Primary. Miss Stratton has accepted a position at Rhodes; Miss Holtby at Melbourne.
