June 7, 1975. Mike Ball hit a home run in the 5th inning and Denny Long pitched a 6-hitter as Collins defeated SEMCO 9-4 in Ta-Ma-Ja Conference. Collins pounded out 12 hits that included singles and doubles. Denny Long, pitcher, fanned 9, and walked 2. Collins is 1-1 in conference play.

June 14, 1975. Collins baseball boys scored 6 runs in the sixth inning to defeat Colo 7-2. Collins scored 1 run in the 3rd and broke the game open in the 6th with 6 runs for the 7 run total on 9 hits and no errors. Oglesby ended up allowing just 1 hit, striking out 10, and walking 1. In the 6th inning base hits by Oglesby, Jim Wright, and Ron Holsinger (double), along with 4 walks and a Colo error was the big inning.
June 19, 1975. Steve Oglesby pitched a no-hitter and Denny Long hit a home run,as Collins shut out Mingo in a 5 inning Ta-Ma-Ja baseball game. Oglesby struck out 10 and walked only 3.
In the Girls Softball game opposing Mingo, Mingo pitcher allowed no hits, with a game score of Mingo 14, Collins 0.
June 28, 1975. Maxwell Softball girls scored 9 runs in the first two innings and 9 runs later in the game for an 18 to 13 victory over the Collins girls. The big hit for Collins was a bases loaded triple by Dori Krausman in the second inning. Each team committed 7 errors.
June 30, 1975. Collins dealt Maxwell a severe blow on the Collins baseball diamond by defeating the Rockets 5-4 in Ta-Ma-Ja Conference. Collins league record is 5-3. The Collins team took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning, then fell behind 4-3 as Maxwell scored 3 runs in the 6th inning. Collins scored an added run in the 5th inning and 2 more critical runs in the 7th inning for the 5-4 victory. Oglesby was the winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits, 3 strikeouts, walked 6. Long had 3 hits, Oglesby 2, Anderson 2, and Jim Wright 2.
July 19, 1975. During the Sectional Baseball Semifinals Ballard pitcher (Miller) simply overpowered the Clippers with superior speed and good control. The Ballard team scored a run in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 5th for the 10-run margin as Miller had completely shut out Collins with a no-hitter.

July 22, 1975. School District Elections will be held throughout Story County on September 9, 1975. Nominations papers for candidates seeking positions must be filed by July 31 with the school district secretary. Collins director from District 2 is currently held by Benny Caulkins. Director at large is currently held by Roger Huntrods. The Collins School District will be holding a separate election to sell certain school property.
