December 8, 1973. Varsity BasketBall The Clipperettes were nipped 83-82 at LeGrand (LDF). Collins shot 60%. However LDF shot a torrid 65%. Collins Scoring: Debbie Carroll 34, Jan Talburt 29, Cindy Dunshee 19. Coach Bill Brooks felt the girls played a fine game.
Boys BasketBall Collins led most of the game, but fell to a 19 point LDF rally in the final quarter to lose 52-45. The Clippers had quarter leads of 15-14, 27-24, and 36-33. Scoring: Bill Oswalt 24, Steve Beavers 10, Ken Caulkins 5, Keith Patterson 4, Jerold Fitzgerald 2. Coach Behrens commented the team had 20 turnovers.
December 12, 1973. Varsity BasketBall Girls lost a rugged game with 60 fouls being called in a game with Garwin. Collins made 27 of 42 and Garwin made 27 of 34 free throws. The girls are now 1 and 2 for the year and 0 - 2 in Conference play.
Boys BasketBall Garwin controlled the game in a 69-40 Conference victory over Collins. None of the Collins players were in double figures. The Clippers are now 1 - 2 for the season.

December 14, 1973. Collins Junior Varsity defeated Maxwell 43-34. Scoring: Denny Long12 points, Jeff Titus 8, Mike Ball 6, Mike Fertig 2, Bob Huntrods and Steve Oglesby 1 each.
December 16, 1973. Collins Girls Junior Varsity defeated Colo in a high scoring 58-48. Halftime score was 26-26. Collins outscored Colo 19 to 2 in the 3rd quarter for the victory. Scoring: Chris Dunshee 31, Julie Lehman 15, Cathy Schmitt 12. Guards Rebounding: Becky Oswalt 15, Terry Hugen 4, Christina Morrison 2.
Collins Boys Junior Varsity defeated Colo 39-34 for a season record of 3-0. Scoring: Denny Long 13, Jeff Titus 10, Steve Lillard 9, Mike Ball 4, Jim Wright 3, Steve Oglesby and Jim Anderson and Mike McDermott 2 each, Matt Carver 1. Collins had a 50% field goal scoring: 24 of 48.
December 19, 1973. Collins Varsity Girls had superior shooting display, hitting 33 of 57 shots; however they lost to a tall talented SEMCO team 76-75. Collins led at halftime 38-37. Scoring: Deb Carroll 36, Jan Talburt 20, Cindy Dunshee 19. Collins had difficulty with free throws, making only 9 of 20 with some of the misses coming on the front end of 1 and 1 attempts. Collins is now 1 and 3 in the Conference.
Collins Varsity Boys Five Clippers scored in double figures as Collins boys overwhelmed SEMCO 79-35. Halftime score was 42-17. Collins had a 48-29 rebounding margin. Collins' balanced scoring: Bill Oswalt 17, Jerold Fitzgerald 12, Frank Beavers 11, Keith Patterson and Steve Lillard 10 each, Randy McQuiston 4, Denny Long and Jeff Titus 3 each, Ken Caulkins and Matt Carver and Mike Ball and Tony Moses 2 each. Coach Rich Behrens said the team is playing good defense and played an all-around good game. The boys are 2 and 2 in Conference play.
