Boys Basketball The entire team got plenty of action as the Clippers completed the Homecoming sweep 84-48. The clippers' shooting was 54% of their field goal attempts as they won their 12th victory in 14 games. January 24, 1973. Girls Basketball Collins girls led Steamboat Rock 51-40 beginning the final period, but Steamboat Rock hit 11 of 12 shots to tie the game at 64-64. Collins gained control of the game in the last minute for 71-66 victory. The Clipperettes have now won 8 straight games and season record is 10-5. Scoring: Deb Carroll 40, Cindy Dunshee 17, Jan Talburt 12, Donna Barrett 2. Shooting percentage - 58%, and also added 15 of 23 free throws. Diana Atwood and Cathy Kingman each had 8 rebounds and 4 interceptions. Cindy Tiffany had 6 rebounds and 2 interceptions.
Boys Basketball Collins jumped to a 21-5 1st quarter lead and finished with a 57-47 victory over Steamboat Rock. January 27, 1973. Girls Basketball Baxter snapped Collins' 8-game winning streak with a 61-55 triumph. Both teams shot over 50%. Collins led 14-10 at 1st quarter, trailed 27-25 at halftime; Cllipperettes led 45-44 at 3rd quarter with Baxter taking control in the final three minutes for their victory.
