Jack Richeson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Richeson, was salutatorian with a 3.5 grade point. Jack Shelley of Ames was Commencement Speaker, on the subject of "What Kind of World." He talked about both the good and the bad in the world which lies ahead. He projected the future as one with planes which will travel from New York to London in 20 minutes, the use of the sea for underwater cities by the turn of the century. He also told the graduates their present education will not be enough to get them through life as the world is changing so fast. Rev. Paul Nelson, Pastor of the Collins Christian Church, gave the invocation and Rev. Wilton Grant, Pastor of the Collins Methodist Church, gave the benediction. The Collins high school band, under the direction of Paul Kuhns, played the Prelude, Processional, Recessional, and the mixed chorus sang.
