The Collins boys closed out the season with their hottest scoring night of the season and among the highest scoring games of Collins basketball history, defeating Garwin 97-76. The boys had a 25-22 1st quarter lead and led throughout the game. Collins leading scorers: Mike Mullihan - 28; Tom Morrison - 23; Steve Holland - 20; Chuck Page - 14.

February 23, 1968 Story County Schools received checks totaling $686, 653 from the office of the County Superintendent this week. This money represented payment in full of the first State Equalization Aid to be paid under the new state aid law. Under the new state aid law, the schools will receive about 30% of their total budget from state funds instead of the approximate 10% in prior years. Additional payments in state funds will be made about April 1. In this week's payment, Collins school received $22,916. Maxwell received $40,355. Colo received $33,124. NESCO received $60,231. Roland received $32,291.
