June 1, 1967 The Alumni Banquet was held at the Collins Community School May 27 with approximately 320 attending. The seniors and their parents, the 25th and 50th anniversary classes, were honored, and also the oldest graduating member of 75 years - Charles Vasey. After the dinner everyone retired to the auditorium on the upper level to enjoy a musical program by the Collins school music department. Bill Stoneburg was master of ceremonies of the banquet on behalf of the 1941 class which was in charge of the banquet. Mrs. Doris (Keagle) Holland introduced the 50-year class with three of the nine members present: Mrs. Mary (Holmes) Tomilson, Mrs. Leona (Halterman) Ball, Mrs. Lloyd Holland stated her two grandchildren that graduated this year were the fourth generation of Holland's to graduate from the Collins school. The 19 members attending of the 25th year class met at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stratton after the banquet. There were 25 in the graduating class of 1942.
June 15, 1967 The Collins graduating class of 1927 with 14 members present held its 40th reunion May 27 at the Collins Methodist Church.
July 7, 1967 Summer BaseBall - Clippers continued their comeback bid nipping Bondurant 5-4 in a Ta-Ja-Ma Conference game. The Clippers' record is now 5-5. Winning run was in the bottom of the 7th on walks to Mike Mullihan, Kyle Krebs, a force out and a single by John Hale, driving in the winning run. Collins had built a 3-0 lead in the 3rd inning on a walk Greg Carver, double by Jim Titus, walk to John Hale and single by Roger Holland. Roger Holland homered in the 5th inning. Bondurant scored their runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings. Roger Holland pitched 5 innings. Morrison pitched 1 1/3 innings. Mike Mullihan pitched the final 2/3rd inning to complete the game. Collins' pitchers allowed 4 runs on 5 hits. The team scored 5 runs on 4 hits and had 3 fielding errors.
July 21, 1967 Collins topped Baxter 8-1 in a Conference baseBall game; scoring 1 run in the 2nd, and 3 in the 3rd that included a home run by Roger Holland. Other leading hitters were John Evans - 2 hits, Lee Huntrods - 2 run single, Steve Holland - a double. Jim Hale pitched: Innings - 6, hits - 4, strikeouts - ?, walks - 3. Collins team had 10 hits and no fielding errors. Collins' conference record is 6-8. The next game is against Mingo at Collins Friday night.
