The day began at 8:00 a.m. and included practice, fun, food, fun, and more practice and it all ended with an evening program at 8:00 p.m. Mary Rice and Christie Atwood played different piano parts to accompany the entire mixed chorus and also the separate girls and boys choruses. Bill Hamilton also had a special part as he sang a solo for the impressive "John Henry," sung by all the boys.
November 24, 1966 Junior Class - "Charlie's Aunt" - 3 act play on Dec. 3 at 8:00 p.m. The class is proud to present this world-famous farce, which has moved millions to tears of laughter. Jack Chesney, played by Steve Holland, violently in love with Kitty Veroun (Barbara Oswalt) and Charles, played by Jack Richeson, equally in love with Miss Spettioue (Pam Snyder) invite the young ladies to their rooms for luncheon in order to meet Charlie's wealthy aunt from Brazil. But the millionaire aunt (Kathy Hunt) sends word that she will have to defer her visit for a few days. Since the girls won't stay without being properly chaperoned, the boys force another Oxford undergraduate (Mark K.) into a black satin skirt, a lace fichu, a pair of mitts and an old-fashioned cap and wig as Charlie's aunt. Then, this "old frump" is introduced to the girls, to Jack's father (Mike Mullihan) who is advised by Jack to marry her millions and to Stephen Spettioue, Miss Spettioue's guardian (Dan Newman). The real aunt and her niece, Ela, played by Dawn Beavers, show up and then the fun and confusion really begins. Jack's uppity butler is played by Larry Findlay. Directors - Mrs. Mellor and Mrs. Hedrick. Come and see how this zany difficulty is solved. Presented in the school auditorium/gymnasium. Reserve seats and general admission; Adults - .75, Students - .50.
