October 13, 1966 Fall baseball Season Summary - The baseball boys should be congratulated on their fine work this fall, compiling 6 wins - 3 losses. Along with this fine record, they won the Sectional Tournament at Roland. On Sept. 19, the home team and eventually, state champs, Norway, defeated Collins 13-0. The pitching was handled largely by Roger Holland, Mike Mullihan, and Tom Morrison. Jim Hale was catcher.
Season Record: Scheduled games: Collins won - Green Mountain 8-6 and 11-6; Roland 4-2; Lost - New Providence 3-2 and 6-5. Sectional tournament: First round - Bye; Semifinals - Collins defeated Green Mountain 14-2; Finals - defeated Roland 3-2 on their home diamond. District tournament: First game - Collins defeated Calamus 3-2; Second game - Collins lost to Norway 13-0.
Boys basketball - About 15 - 20 boys showed up for the first basketball practice. The main thing Coach Barnett is interested in is getting the boys in shape and figuring out whether Mullihan is taller than Morrison. Mike needs to get himself a pair of "Beatle Boots." Anyway, "Good Luck, boys!"
