Junior High News - Arithmetic: 8th graders are learning square roots; 7th graders are studying graphs and scale drawing. Science: 7th grade is studying the planets, sun, and the moon. It is very interesting; 8th grade is learning about atoms, magnetism, and electricity. History: Some very interesting research papers have been written on the Civil War years. English: All students are busy writing book reports and studying the composition of a good sentence.

Junior High is happy to claim the students of the "Hokey-Pokey" and the piano duet performances at the Hi-Lite music program.
Boys P. E. (Physical Education) For the last several weeks we have been watching film strips that are preparing us for bowling. We have learned how to stand and hold the ball and the correct approach for the 1-2-3-4 S-S-S-Slide. Very shortly we will select our teams and start bowling. (Reported by Gary Pointer)
Freshmen News: The Home-Ec class has just finished our A-line skirts and is anxiously awaiting to start on our blouses. Mrs. Waskow has been a great help and we couldn't get along without her much-needed knowledge. General Business - Trying to catch up in our workbooks; Teacher - Mr. Hinders. English - Everyone has been frantically taking dictation. General Science - Studying the classification of plants and animals; Teacher - Mr. Graves. Algebra - We have started our third book since the beginning of the year.
Sophomore News: Biology - Studying genetics and heredity. English - Spelling and descriptions; Teacher - Mrs. Holcomb. Geometry - Studying tangents, secants and measuring arcs. World History - Studying World War I and the second industrial revolution.
The sophomore class had a surprise farewell party for Larry Thomas: 19 class members attended.
Three class members attended the Tama-Toledo Speech Contest. They were Pam Luing, Susan Lengeling and Charla Triplett. They all thought it was educational and gained a great deal of experience. (Reported by Linda Clemons)

English - Studying the meaning and uses of words and also the emotional effect some words have on a person. History - Studying the new industrial age. Chemistry - Studying the derivatives of hydrocarbons such as dichlorodiphenylrickoroethane. Shorthand - Listening to the dictation record and also transcribing shorthand by the typewriter. Typing - Class has been typing booklets. French - Studying pronouns, adverbs, present participles and future tense. Shop - Working on plumb bobs, pipe projects, dust pans, and finishing up welding projects.
