May 1, 1952 On April 25 the Collins Junior-Senior Banquet was held in the Colony Room at the Commodore Hotel in Des Moines. The table was decorated according to the theme of "Show Boat" and the senior class colors of orchard and silver. The centerpiece consisted of a miniature wooden show boat placed on a mirror surrounded with orchid and silver crepe paper. Toastmaster of the evening was Phyllis Carroll. Toasts were given by Jack Koehler, Lee Ann Ridgeway, and Dolores Milligan of the junior class. Response was given by Darrel Moses, senior. Shirley Smith, accompanied by Bonnie Snyder, sang "Garden in the Rain." The responses by the faculty members were given by Mr. Schrader and Mr. Lawson.

A large appreciative audience attended the Senior Class Play "His Ozark Cousin" on April 28. John Carver as Uncle Zeb, the hillbilly who didn't like Yankees, probably received more laughs than anyone, but the characters all played their parts in a very credible manner. The cast of characters included Bonnie Snyder as Mrs. Rankin, Darrel Moses, Carolyn Long, and Joy Milligan as the Rankin children, and Phil Holland and Virginia Mead as their friends. The parts of the Eastern cousins were played by Erwin Frerichs, Shirley Smith, Crystal Moore and Rhineardt Kilker. The play was directed by Mrs. Jackson. The seniors wish to thank the Swing Band and the other groups for the music between sets.
