Girls Basketball Rule Changes Effective Fall 1951: Offensive players have a 3-second time limit each time they enter the free-throw lane. Previously, there was no time limit. This 3-second lane rule is the same as boys' basketball lane rule. Two continuous dribbles are allowed to each player (offensive and defensive) on each ball possession. This replaces the one-dribble limit per player on each possession effective near fall 1951.

November 1, 1951 The Collins High School Basketball Teams opened their 1951-52 basketball season playing the alumni. The girls were defeated by the alumni 43-36. The alumni team members were: Joanne Fertig, Carol Atwood, Bonnie Long, Norma Keagle, Lola Oswalt and Norma Evans. The alumni defeated the boys 59-51. The alumni had a 17 point halftime lead with the high school team gradually creeping up until they were only a few points back with the outcome 59-51. The high school team made 20 of 30 free throws and 32% shooting on field goals. The game was rough and rugged.
