April 16, 1886 School opens Monday with Miss Maggie Knepper as teacher. (Insert 2003: Appears school year was three terms – fall, winter, and spring.)
December 20, 1886 Both rooms of our school are doing nicely with Professor Long in the upper level (higher grades) and Maggie Knepper in the lower (lower grades). There seems to be quite an interest manifested by the pupils.
March 18, 1887 School closed Friday in the upper room with an exhibition in the evening, which proved a success and did credit to both pupils and teachers. The Collins band favored the congregation with music between plays.
April 15, 1887 School commenced in this place Monday with Nat Glasgow as principal and Miss May Eatherton as assistant.
September 30, 1887 The fall term of school is progressing nicely under the instruction of Prof. Nat Glasgow, principal. He has on the roll about 65 pupils whom he is doing the best to give all the aid possible. Owing to the fact that he has not enough time to teach writing during the day, school meets two evenings each week to give instruction in that branch.

January 19, 1894 School board meeting. Albert Armstrong appointed to fill vacancy. H. Hazlett appointed secretary of board to fill vacancy.
March 9, 1894 The public school will give an entertainment at the schoolhouse March 17. The feature will be exhibition in calisthenics.
February 22, 1895 Calisthenics exercise on March 8.
May 24, 1895 May 31, 1895 commencement exercise at public school. Prof. L. T. Weld of Nevada will deliver the address. (Insert: Graduate list not found)
April 23, 1896 At the meeting of the school board last Monday evening Prof. Lyon was retained for the ensuing year. W. M. Evens of Maxwell was engaged for the intermediate department. The selection of a teacher for the primary department was deferred till the adjoined session of the board next Saturday night.
May 14, 1896 The ice cream and strawberry festival given by the high school last Saturday evening was a pleasant affair. The proceeds, about $10 net, will be used in helping to defray the expenses of commencement day.
May 21, 1896 There was school in every department last Saturday to make up (f)or the loss of Thanksgiving.
