March 3, 1949 Home-Ec news. Every Tuesday and Thursday 11 eager junior-high girls rush to the home-ec room immediately after finishing lunch to get an early start on their sewing. They have finished making aprons and have begun on blouses, skirts, or shorts. The advanced class has been discussing teenage boys and girls' relationships. We have gone into discussions on marriage.
Shop News - Some of the boys have been making a doghouse for Mr. Rietveld, a very neat model. It has double walls with insulation and also has a heating unit.
Grade School News - 2nd - We put words in alphabetical order. We studied about dictionaries with the words in alphabetical order. For language we made up stories about our pets. 3rd - For geography we collected pictures of different kinds of houses people live in. We wrote a story about the houses and put all of them together in a booklet. 4th - In health we are studying about the kinds of foods we need each day and how each group of foods helps the body. We have been checking our daily noon lunches and find we have food from every group every day.
March 10, 1949 Junior High News - 8th Grade invited the 9th grade to a party last Tuesday night. Entertainment was playing basketball, dancing and refreshments. Also, heard junior high kids are doing a good job selling magazines.
