September 5, 1946 Statement to the Public - The Collins School Board has purchased the S. W. Inman property for the district to be used as a home for the superintendent. Purchase price was $4,250 and will be paid from the general fund. The purchase of a property was an absolute necessity as there were very few houses in town for rent. In order to have a superintendent, a suitable house had to be found without delay. The house will be a rental to the superintendent, a rental initiated by OPA rent control measures. The board wishes to thank the voters for giving them the right to pay for this property from school funds and assure the public the transaction will prove in due time an asset and not a liability to the district. L. D. Holland, President of Board. (Insert 2005: House [large 2-story] location on corner lot where post office currently located.)
