Girls Basketball - Collins and Maxwell played to a tie time for the second time this season 22 all. This is the 4th tie game Collins girls have played this season. Crabb led the scoring with 12 points, followed by Pritchard with 8 points.
February 1, 1945 Grade School Operetta "The Children of Buttercup Commons" will be given February 6 in the high school auditorium.

February 8, 1945 Over 100 persons were in attendance at the Collins Evening School Banquet held in the gymnasium. Thirteen men and 11 women were present at every weekly meeting for perfect attendance. Attendance certificates were awarded to more than 50 men and women who attended 7 or more lessons. G. F. Holland holds the record for having received certificates for regular attendance at 12 Collins Evening Schools. He also holds the honor of the oldest member of the 44-45 School.
Boys County Basketball Tournament: Collins defeated Cambridge in the first round, 32-24. Collins trailed at half-time 15-14. This is their 11th victory of the season. Lineup: Miller (f) - 15 pts; Oswalt (f) - 0 pts; Renfeldt (c) - 2 pts; Marsh (g) - 4 pts; Titus (g) - 2 pt; Pritchard (f) - 5 pts; Holland (g) - 4 pts. Collins lost to Zearing in the second round, 33-23. Zearing built up a 10-point margin in the final minutes.
February 15, 1945 Boys Basketball: Steamboat Rock defeated the first team 47-28. Steamboat Rock also won the second team game 40-31.
Girls Sectional Basketball Tournament: White Oak defeated Collins in the first round of the Sectional Tournament 31-23. Scoring was Crabb - 8 pts, Pritchard - 7 pts; Fertig - 6 pts; Gardener - 2 pts.
Music News: In case you are wondering what all the weird noises coming from the auditorium these days are - I'll tell you - Music Contest is in the offing (April 6 and 7) and those noises, my friends, are rehearsals. Miss Buck is planning to take mixed chorus, girls' glee club, boys' quartet, mixed quartet, girls' sextet, and several solos.
