October 9, 1941 The Collins high school baseball team won the Sectional Tournament championship by defeating he Alleman, Elkhart and Shipley teams to win the sectional tournament, which was played at Elkhart. Joe Anderson pitched the first two games, defeating Alleman 22-4, and Elkhart 12-2. Jack Fertig pitched the last game, defeating Shipley 13-1. Each game lasted only three innings because Collins held a 10-run lead. The entire team played good ball. The district tournament will be played October 9, 10. 11. Team lost to either Gilbert 8-4 or Mingo 5-3 as only two games lost during season.] Scheduled games: Collins won - Rhodes 10-7, Shipley 3-1, Mingo 6-4.

The Collins Vocational Agricultural department spent Monday and Tuesday in Waterloo attending the Dairy Congress. There were two teams from the local high school: Dairy judging: Reid Beavers, Chuck Kimberley, Gene Fertig. Poultry: William Atwood and Olin Pitcher. We have not yet received our placing.
October 16, 1941 The high school baseball team defeated Mingo, 6-4. Joe Anderson and Jack Fertig joined efforts and fanned 12 batters, allowing six hits.
October 30,1941 The school music groups will present a program November 4. The Program is: Solos: Johanna Tiffany - flute; Eileen Hofer - clarinet; Flo Signs - soprano; Margaret Kimberley - saxophone. Duet: Karol Robinson, Louis Elliott; Girls' Glee Club - One Night and Passed by Your Window; Mixed Chorus - On the Road to Mandalay and The New Song.
November 6, 1941 State Teacher's Convention theme this year is "Building a Strong America." No school for students Thursday and Friday during the teacher's convention.
The advanced Home Economics girls held their class dinner Monday evening in the home ec room. With 16 girls helping it was possible to carry out an elaborate menu and nice decorations.

November 13, 1941 The entire student body will have individual pictures taken Wednesday. Pictures of this type are taken every other year. The students may buy one dozen pictures for 25 cents.
