Second Grade We made pictures to show how we take care of our teeth. Beverly Liggett and Ronald Stratton went to the dentist. He signed their yellow cards. Norma, Howard, Carl, Josephine and Darlene have very good teeth. They didn't have to have any teeth cleaned or filled or pulled by the dentist.
December 16, 1937 Collins Boys, Girls Win from Baxter Collins high school won both ends of a doubleheader from Baxter Tuesday evening. The local girls rolled up a 30-7 half-time lead and coasted on to win 42-14. The local boys, after trailing 13-5 at half-time, rallied in the final period to win 28-22. Neale, Carver and Shearer played strong games for Collins while Schmidt looked best for Baxter. Assembly The Dramatic club presented a playlet, "The Casting Bureau," in assembly Monday morning, with the following cast: Juanita Bates, George Kimberley, Ruth Atkinson, Harold Hale, Jeane Tipton, Donald Deal, Minnie Loo Fish. Keith Shearer, on behalf of the Junior class, presented Miss Holmes with a gift in appreciation of her work with them on the Junior class play.
Dramatics All high school students who are taking declamatory this year were given their readings on Monday. Rehearsal begins immediately. The one-act plays to be presented by the Dramatics club have been selected. Tryouts for the casts are being held this week.
Basketball Collins high school teams dropped 3 out of 4 games the past week. Friday night on the local court Collins split a double header with Cambridge, Collins girls winning 32-14 and Cambridge boys winning 29-25. On Tuesday evening Slater gave the locals a double setback, defeating Collins girls 25-22 and taking the boys into camp 32-12 (No box scores found). Friday evening, Dec. 17, Collins plays Kelley at the C. H. S. gym.
