November 24, 1927 Collins Cagers Lose Two Games. Collins high school basketball teams were unfortunate in their games with Gilbert Friday night, losing both of them. Girls 22-12 and boys 19-8.

December 1, 1927 Collins boys lost to Zearing 42-12. (No box score found)

The agriculture boys have completed their straw loft chicken house project. They have also two hog houses to build for Vasey Brothers. The shop boys want jobs on poultry and hog houses, and other practical work. There is a small charge attached for labor.

The sixth grade will give a Spelling at P. T. A. next Tuesday night. Milo Dodd and Winfred Holmes are the leaders.

December 15, 1927 Tuesday, Dec. 21 the united efforts of the School and PTA will make possible the most beautiful Christmas pageant ever presented in this community. The pageant will provide a delectable morsel of entertainment. Treats will be provided for the kiddies.

January 12, 1928 Collins loses twice to McCallsburg: Boys 29-21. Girls 45 – 18. (No box scores found)

January 12, 1928 School Health Notes The health condition in regard to contagious disease is about the same. New cases are appearing at the rate of about one each week. The disease as yet is mild, but it is well to remember that the late winter months is the time for diseases to become more severe. The months of February and March are given as the period when diseases take their greatest toll because of the lowered vitality of the people and the type of weather that is common. Many are taking the scarlet fever vaccine. The reaction is not severe, and the injection is almost painless. It is well for everyone to investigate thoroughly, as we have disease with us and the time for it becoming severe is not far away. Notify your doctor or call Mr. Hollingsworth if you wish your children vaccinated.

February 9, 1928 Boys Lose 20-19 The team battled, slashed and shot their way to a six-point lead only to have it surmounted by the sensational shooting of Templeman for Colo in the last few moments of play. The eventual score was 20-19. Conspicuous parts of the work of the local team were the passing by the Streeter boys (Joe, Thurman) and the sterling defensive work of Capt. (Virgil) Shickell. A mighty good game if did lose.
