OUR OLDEST BUILDING

The house now owned and occupied by Byron W. Barnes, immediately east of the library, which fromerly stood on the site of the West Liberty public library, is the oldest house in town, having been built and occupied by Skilman Alger. The oldest business building is the brick building that now houses the Ruthenberg clothing store and the Mackey cafe. When this building was first built it was used as a creamery.
