LAST OF THE G. A. R.

Charles Regnier, the only surviving member of Silas Jackson Post No. 255, Grand Army of the Republic, which was organized with 26 members, Dec. 11, 1883 and was named for Silas Jackson, of the 11th Iowa Infantry, who was killed in battle at Atlanta, Georgia.

The last Commander of the Post was Benjamin Fenstermaker, who died several years ago. Since then the post has been inactive.
