MUSCATINE COUNTY, IOWA
PICTURES

Photo of Pierre and Marie Monet Grosjean.

The land they farmed was below the bluffs in Muscatine Co. I believe that's called 76 township.

Their son, Celesta, had the farm, then my grandmother, Mary Grosjean McBride acquired it from the estate of her mother, Mary Masonholder Grosjean, Celesta's wife.

During my childhood, my uncle, Clem McBride farmed and raised his family there.

This is from the obit of their daughter, Terese:
Pierre and Marie and ten of their children came to America in 1852. They arrived at New Orleans after a sailing voyage of 42 days. They went to St. Louis then to Muscatine, Ia.

(Picture was submittted by Sherry Murphy--her aunt JoAnn McBride Cook sent this picture to her)
