COMMISSIONERS' COURT ABOLISHED. As time went on dissatisfaction arose with the commissioners' court and its methods of conducting the affairs of the county. The office was the subject of much unfavorable critism in various counties of the state and in 1851 the commissioners' court was abolished by law and by an act of the legislature the county court system was substitued therefor. This court was given equal power to that of its predecessor, in all business matters of the county, and coordinate jurisdiction with justices courts.
