Marriages from January to June
1880 are from Family History Center Microfilm
#1491828 of Mills Co. Marriage Book III, continued. After
June 1880, the format for entering data changed.
|
Marriages from July - December 1880 are from Marriage Register 1, FHC microfilm #1491826, item 5. Because of the inconsistency in recording data, marriage dates from different months or even years may appear on the same page. |

If you know the name of the bride or groom for whom you are searching, the search tool on the index page may be the fastest method of locating the information. Search by Surname, Firstname. Witnesses are listed Firstname Surname.Unfortunately the search tool only recognizes exact matches.
These records were transcribed in the sequence in which they appear on the pages of the original documents. The ministers or justices of the peace who married the couples were responsible for registering the information and often submitted the data weeks or months after the marriage. Consequently marriage dates do not appear sequentially. N.G. = not given
Often parent's and witnesses' names are recorded in small writing and are very difficult to read. The witness, or at least one of them, may have been the wife of the minister or a neighbor and not necessarily a family member. Cemetery listings and the county history were used sometimes to check the names, but frequently the people seemed to be just passing through Mills County. |
